We are pleased to announce per-session drop-in pricing for group lessons — one of the most requested features from academy owners across the US and Australia.
What is changing
Previously, group lessons required full-term enrollment. Guardians paid the term price and committed to every session in the term date range. While this works well for core programs, many academies told us they were losing potential students — families who wanted to try a session, had irregular schedules, or could not commit to a full term upfront.
With drop-in pricing, you can now set a per-session rate on any group lesson alongside the existing term price. Guardians choose at booking time:
- Enroll for the term — pay the term price and attend all recurring sessions
- Book a single session — pay the drop-in rate for one occurrence

How to enable it
When creating or editing a group lesson in the owner dashboard, enable the drop-in pricing option and enter a per-session rate. The term price remains unchanged. Both prices display on your public academy page so guardians can compare before starting the booking wizard.
We recommend setting the drop-in rate 20–30% higher than the effective per-session term rate. This preserves the value of term commitment while offering genuine flexibility for casual participants.

Benefits for academy owners
Fill empty spots. Term enrollments may not reach capacity, but drop-in sessions can fill individual dates without requiring a full-term commitment from new families.
Lower the barrier to trial. A family unsure about your academy can book one session instead of committing to ten weeks. Many drop-in participants convert to term enrollment after experiencing your coaching.
Compete with casual offerings. If competitors offer pay-as-you-go sessions, you can now match that flexibility without abandoning term-based programs that provide revenue predictability.
Simplify admin. Drop-in bookings flow through the same CourtSync checkout, attendance, and notification systems as term bookings. No separate manual tracking required.
Benefits for guardians
Guardians gain scheduling flexibility without leaving your platform. Drop-in bookings require the same account creation and payment flow as term enrollments, so communication, make-up credit eligibility, and attendance tracking all work consistently.
Students who book drop-in sessions appear in your bookings list with the specific session date, making attendance marking straightforward for coaches.
Compatibility with existing features
Drop-in pricing works alongside:
- Make-up credits — drop-in sessions follow the same age group and skill level compatibility rules
- Waitlist — when a term enrollment cancels, waitlist promotion continues to work as before
- Stripe Connect payments — drop-in checkout uses the same automated payment flow
- Custom age groups — drop-in sessions respect your academy's age group configuration
